I send or receive a synchronization using ACT!6.0 and find that not all of the changes have been transferred. Data is either missing or has not been updated.
This can happen if you have done a Compress and Reindex since your last successful synchronization.

The solution for this issue requires you to remove the entries in the Transaction log and restart the synchronization process with all sync users. Because you have purged the transaction log, you will need to perform a "Send all records (next sync only)" to each sync user.

To prevent future recurrence of this issue, we recommended that when you perform Database Maintenance, Reindex only.  Do NOT Compress your database.

The ACT!6.03 patch will soon be released and should resolve this issue

I am using the ACT! for Palm O/S software version 1.0

There is now a free software update available for the ACT! for Palm O/S. To learn what was added with this patch Click HereTo download the update Click Here.

I want to customize the Notes/History, Activities/Time Spent, Task List, History Summary and Sales by Contact reports.  Whenever I customize these reports and save them with a new name, they do not filter properly.  How can I fix this?

These five reports have special imbedded functions that are not readily apparent when modifying these reports:

ACT! 6.0:

ACT! 5.0/2000

Notes/History               (notehis6.rep)

Notes/History               (notehis5.rep)

Activities/Time Spent    (activit6.rep)

Activities/Time Spent    (activit5.rep)

History Summary         (history6.rep)

History Summary         (history5.rep)

Sales by Contact         (slscntc6.rep)

Sales by Contact         (slscntc5.rep)

Task List                     (tasklis6.rep)

Task List                     (tasklis5.rep)

These special functions are based on the original file name of the report. To save your customized report with the same file name as the original without overwriting the original report, save the customized report to a different folder.

  1. From the Reports Menu, choose Edit Report Template.
  2. Select your custom report template and click Open.
  3. From the File menu, choose Save As.
  4. In the dialog box, click on the Create New Folder icon.
  5. Rename the new folder, e.g. “Custom”.
  6. Double-click your new folder.
  7. In the Filename field, enter the original name for the report. Click Save.
