How do I send a customized ACT! e-mail message to a group of people without putting their names in the bcc field?

Use ACT!'s Mail Merge feature for one or more contacts. This is what you do:

  1. Create a form letter e-mail template and save it.
  2. Create a lookup of the contacts, or select your group.
  3. From the Menu Bar, select Write, Mail Merge.
  4. In ACT! 5.0, select current look-up, e-mail as the output and the document template.
  5. in ACT! 6.0, the Mail Merge Wizard will appear.
  6. Select Current Lookup and click Next.
  7. Select E-mail and click Next.
  8. Browse to locate your template, select it and click Next.
  9. Select Current Lookup and click Next.
  10. Select the desired e-mail options and click Finish.

ACT! creates an individual letter for each recipient and sends it out via e-mail.  We do not recommend that you send more than 150 e-mails from ACT! at one time.

I have a group of people that I want to schedule a call with so I can tell them about my company's new product. Is there a way to schedule a call for multiple people at one time?

ACT! has a feature that makes this easy to do, but you've got to dig into the Schedule Activity dialog box to find it. This is what you do:
  1. Select your Group or create a lookup of the people you want to call.

  2. Press Ctrl+L to open the Schedule Activity to schedule a call.

  3. Choose the activity's particulars, i.e. Date, Time, Regarding, and so on.

  4. Click on the Contacts button and select the Select Contacts option.

  5. When the Select Contacts box opens, choose the Current Lookup option.

  6. Click the Add All button.

  7. Select the Create Separate Activity For Each Contact option and click OK.

Now ACT! will schedule an activity for every contact in the lookup.
