How do I send a
customized ACT! e-mail message to a group of people without putting
their names in the bcc field?
Use ACT!'s Mail Merge feature
for one or
more contacts. This is what you
do:
- Create a form letter e-mail template and save
it.
- Create
a lookup of the
contacts, or select
your group.
From the Menu Bar, select Write,
Mail Merge.
In ACT! 5.0, select current look-up, e-mail
as the output and the document template.
in ACT! 6.0, the Mail Merge Wizard will
appear.
Select Current Lookup and click Next.
Select E-mail and click Next.
Browse to locate your template, select it and
click Next.
Select Current Lookup and click Next.
Select the desired e-mail options and click
Finish.
ACT! creates an individual letter for each
recipient and sends it out via e-mail. We do not recommend that
you send more than 150 e-mails from ACT! at one time.

I
have a group of people that I
want to schedule a call with so I can tell them about my company's new
product. Is there a way to schedule a call for multiple people at one
time?
ACT! has a feature that makes this easy to do,
but you've got to dig into the Schedule Activity dialog box to find
it. This is what you do:
-
Select your Group
or create a lookup of the people you want to call.
-
Press Ctrl+L to
open the Schedule Activity to schedule a call.
-
Choose the
activity's particulars, i.e. Date, Time, Regarding, and so
on.
-
Click on the
Contacts button and select the Select Contacts option.
-
When the Select
Contacts box opens, choose the Current Lookup option.
-
Click the Add All
button.
-
Select the Create
Separate Activity For Each Contact option and click OK.
Now ACT! will schedule an activity for every
contact in the lookup.
